Custom SlickEdit Toolbar not available?
« on: October 08, 2009, 03:50:44 PM »
Hi,

I'm searching for a custom Slick Edit Toolbar (not a Menu). Isn't there a cool feature like "Toolbar Customization"
in the Slick Edit Core (it is available in SE)?

Our toolbars are not exposed in the plug-in...and thus, neither is the creation/customization dialog :(.  A lot of them don't apply to the Eclipse environment (e.g. Debug, because debugging is handled by Eclipse), and we cannot simply dock a SlickEdit toolbar anywhere we want in the Eclipse IDE, like we can in SlickEdit.  Our only 'quick and easy' option would be to convert them to 'views' like we did for References, etc...but this would not look very good for a toolbar, and wouldn't allow you to dock it at the top of the IDE.

I will file a feature request to support the creation and customization of SlickEdit toolbars in Eclipse, and also to convert the standard SlickEdit toolbars to Eclipse toolbars for those which are still applicable in Eclipse.  This is a good candidate for a feature in our next release.
