« on: October 15, 2009, 11:05:46 am »
open the help file and search for

open_url

See Also includes  open_url_in_assoc_app  but this is missing!

Confirmed we're looking into it. Help for Slick-C functions is pulled directly from the comments in our code. So, even if the help system doesn't contain anything for a function, there may still be some comments in the code, as is the case with this function.

In SlickEdit, open the command line (by pressing ESC in most emulations) and type "fp". When prompted, type in the name of the function, in this case "open_url_in_assoc_app" and hit enter.  Here's the comment from that function.

Code: [Select]
/**
 * The open_url_in_assoc_app command attempts to intelligently open the URL the
 * cursor is in:
 * <ul>
 *    <li>First, attempt to use the associated application found in the File
 *    Extension Manager.</li>
 *    <li>Second, attempt to use the associated application found in the
 *    registry (on Windows systems).</li>
 *    <li>Third, open with the default web browser</li>
 * </ul>
 *
 * @see goto_url
 * @see open_url
 *
 * @categories Buffer_Functions
 */

We're looking into why this didn't make it into the help system.
