Shortcut key assignments in HTML to apply tags to selected text
« on: November 14, 2009, 08:42:11 pm »
While editing an HTML Document, by mistake, I used the shortcut [Ctrl + i] when I had a word selected which I wanted italicized.  To my surprise, SlickEdit placed tags properly around the selected text.  Wow, I thought, this is great, and I proceeded to test the same behavior out with [Ctrl + b] and [Ctrl + u] with no such luck.

So, I thought to myself, "Myself, I'll just find out where SlickEdit is configured with the behavior to surround tags with [Ctrl + i], and add other key assignments myself for the tags and ".
Well, after looking around, I can't find where SlickEdit is configured to perform this behavior for
[Ctrl + i] for HTML.

Anyone know where this is at, or if this is a behavior which is just hard coded in SlickEdit?

Thanks!

It's done via the function i-search in search.e.  i-search calls insert_html_italic.
