javadoc HTML view not working for method definition comments ?
« on: October 14, 2006, 03:40:03 pm »
Do I miss sth. when trying to see the javadoc HTML view for things like this:
Code: [Select]
/*
 * javadoc comment block
 *
 * @param param
 *
 * @return
*/
CClass::Foo (param)
{

}

Seems that it's only working for comments in the declaration, right ?
@SlickTeam:
Is it possible to show the comment block for a defintion e.g. if the declaration / header doesn't contain a corr. comment block ?

Javadoc comments are delimited by /** ... */, which is standard.  It also is gathered from the declaration, which I believe is also standard convention (for cpp).

Hello Lee,

my example was incorrect. Of course the commemt is properly formatted ('/**').
Do I get you right that (javadoc) comment blocks for method definitions are NOT displayed and are gathered from declaration ONLY ?

I noticed that 'Show info for symbol under mouse' displays even def. comments which is fine !
Is there a command / macro-fct. to achieve the same thing in 'no-mouse-mode' ?
Usually I do 'ALT-.' (list-symbols) to get the preview of the (resulting) formatted javadoc comment block. But this seems not the appropriate way ...
Is it right that the mouse pop-up uses a different strategy to extract and show comments (in comparison to list-symbols) ?

Any hint for me ?

Any update on this issue?
The same problem with "javadoc comment blocks for method definitions are NOT displayed and are gathered from declaration ONLY" seems to perstist in v17.0.3 still.
