I would suggest you investigate RDz with the SlickEdit core plugin. Changeman ships a CARMA adaptor for
RDz which will enable you to handle your mainframe change control systems from the RDz IDE.

Regular SlickEdit provides no remote project support other then mapping a network drive. Of course, if you
are using a standard mainframe filesystem (PDS PDSE) then your out of luck...

If you use ChangeMan ZMF, you should check the EclipsePlugin that Serena provides for Eclipse:
http://www.serena.com/products/changeman-zmf/features/feature-user-interfaces.html

Because Eclipse is open for all possible editors, it's not a problem to combine SlickEdit with this Plugin.
You should not try to reinvent this.

In our company we use ChangeMan ZMF and ERO, and we have a lot of customizing.
Therefore we wrote a own interface between Eclipse and ChangeMan - based on XML-Services from Serena.

There is also a other option (if you have reduced customizations) - there is a integration possible from the web.
Ask Serena for this options.
