unable to get clipboard data
« on: July 14, 2010, 05:01:55 pm »
Just upgraded my computer (forced by corp IT) to Vista.

Loaded on our company licensed SlickEdit Installed fine. Seems to work fine except...

I cannot get the 'paste  Ctrl V' command to work. When I invoke, SlickEdit responds with

'unable to get clipboard data'.  This is true for Ctrl V or edit menus 'paste'.

Any ideas on how to make this work? It's become a big hole in my programming.

thx PeteP

That messages tells me that it failed to open the Windows system clipboard for whatever reason.  It could fail if another application has left the clipboard open, are you running any clipboard management software that may be interfering with SlickEdit?  When you re-installed SlickEdit, did you start with a new fresh configuration or did you attempt to migrate settings from a previous installation?
