Help: Adding context tagging handler for new language.
« on: September 23, 2010, 01:29:18 am »
Hi all,
I'm almost a new to Slick-C and realized that this is very nice feature.
I was trying to add new context tagging handler for new language such as *.asl file.
I read a couple of post related to this.
It seems that I have to write my own asl_proc_search().

So, as a test,
1> I added following lines to tags.e:
    _str asl_proc_search(_str &proc_name,boolean find_first)
    {
       _message_box( "Testing asl_proc_search");
       return(0);
    }
2> Reloaded tags.e module
3> Then, I added test.asl file to the project.
4> At this point, I was expecting the messagebox pops up., but it didn't. asl_proc_search() routine was not called at all.

Could anyone teach me how to register new(user-defined) context tagging handler for new language?

I really appreciate your help in advance.

Regards,
DL

There's a "blog" post about this

Here's an index of slick blogs except for 2010

Here's a couple of posts on getting started with slick macros
