How to transfer SlickEdit 2008 configuration to 2009
« on: April 23, 2011, 04:14:16 PM »
Just installed 2009 and found that I can import configurations to it.  Now I want to share my configuration on 2008 with 2009, how can I do that?  Can't find the "export" option on 2008  >:(

Have a read of the "upgrading slickedit" topic in the help.  When you first run slickedit 2009 it will look for your 2008 configuration folder and migrate your settings to a new 2009 configuration folder.  Contrary to what you might reasonably expect, the slick help file says you shouldn't export your options from one version of slickedit and import them into another.  You have to let slick migrate your settings when you first run the new version.
