Double pane mode
« on: May 16, 2011, 05:08:39 pm »

I was wondering if there was a way to create 2 editing panes side by side that are automatically maximized.  This is a feature in Notepad++ where I can just right click on the file tab and select "Move to Other View" or "Clone to Other View", and I have two panes that are maximized on each half of the screen.  I know about the Horizontal/Vertical Split functionality, and the undocking button, but I have to rearrange the views side by side every time I open new files.

Yes, right-click on a tab and select "Split vertical with [filename]".

Maximize a document window, then do the Horiz/Vert Split.

Splitting makes two new windows in the same area as the original window.
So if the original window is maximized, then two new windows fill the maximized area.
