Bug: stuck, when tagging explicit instantiation
« on: May 26, 2011, 07:55:07 am »
hi, all:

slickedit 15, stuck when tagging explicit instantiation.
(slickedit 16 is probabilistic)

example code:

Code: [Select]
#include <iostream>
#include <string>

using namespace std;

class Archive
{
public:
    template<typename T>
        Archive& operator << (const T& value);
};

template<typename T>
    Archive& Archive::operator << (const T& value)
{
    cout << value << endl;
    return *this;
}

template<>
Archive& Archive::operator << <string> (const string& value)
{
    cout << "string: " << value << endl;
    return *this;
}

int main(int argc, char* argv[])
{
    Archive ar;
    ar << string("hello? ");
    ar << 1;
    return 0;
}

slickedit 15, stuck when tagging explicit instantiation.

I don't see a problem.  What do you mean it's stuck?  Do you get an error message?  Does it hang?  Does it crash?  What?

What do you mean by probabilistic?  Do you mean it's ok sometimes and not other times?  What?

yes, it's hang.
look at the pic at the end.
notice: the menu bar is lost, and the application is hang, can't do anything on it.

I had try it on 2 company. windows 2k3, xp, all the same.

It doesn't hang on my system using version 15 on win xp.  How do you make it hang?  Does it hang if you rebuild the tag file?

The code you've posted doesn't match the code in the picture.  Are you sure the code you posted has a problem?

Try pressing Ctrl+Alt+Shift+F2 or Ctrl+Alt+Shift+F9 and see if the editor responds.
