command line find symbol (f) completion stopped working
« on: June 28, 2011, 01:14:26 pm »
Hi All,
I just upgraded from v11 to v16. I have tagged code and have used the command line find symbol command with the completion key (?) often in v11. Since the upgrade, this does not work. If I type the whole symbol name and hit enter, the symbol is found, but if I only type a partial name and '?' (or space) I no longer get a list of the matches based on the partial name. All the symbols are present in the find symbol window, so the tagging looks correct.

In the settings, Tools->Options->Appearance->General->"List command line completions" is set to True.
Tools->Options->Keyboard and Mouse->Key Bindings-> ? is mapped to maybe-list-matches, Mode - default, Recorded - No

I've searched the forums and found no other clue as to what I might do to resolve the issue. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks,
Carl

Another customer reported a similar problem:

Please see if toggling the case-sensitivity changes the behavior you're seeing.

Hi Matthew,
I read that post and tried toggling the case-sensitivity, but still no change.
Thanks,
Carl

We just posted an update to the cumulative hotfix package, now at revision 4.

Please let me know if that hotfix addresses your problem with find-symbol.
