CVS status images missing when using NX
« on: February 11, 2010, 10:48:44 AM »
Since the usability of VNC is decreasing with every update of it, I decided to try out NX (http://nomachine.com/). I have an OpenSuse 11.2 with FreeNx. Now, when I look at the CVS status of the project, most status icons are missing, as one can see in the attached image.
I already tried to changed the cvs bitmaps in %VSROOT%bitmaps/ but the changed bitmaps do not seem to be loaded.

Try re-loading the macro file stdcmds.e, which should update the CVS bitmaps. Make a backup of your config, or try this with a clean configuration first.

Changing the images does not solve the problem.

Wow .. timely.  I was getting on this forum to look to see if anyone had talked about using SlickEdit under NX.  I'm using the NX client with an opensuse 11.4 host and find that NX seems to not paint about 20-30% of the font data in the main window, does paint the icons along the tool bar but none of the text in the menu bar (i.e., "File Edit Search View Project" ..).  Instead this comes out as dashes.  File names in the file tabs are also blank.

Other apps in the KDE desktop look fine to me.

Font issue perhaps?

This sounds like a different issue.  Did one of the columns get "sized all the way to the left"?  Let me know if that does not make sense ;)

Umm .. sorry?  As you guessed I'm not sure what you mean.  The main SlickEdit window displays the text that I would expect distributed as I'd expect, it is just a lot of the characters are missing.

I may have misunderstood.  Can you send me a picture of what you are talking about?

If the screensaver kicks in when you come back you get the as attached (notice the dashes I mentioned earlier)

Those are the underscore's beneath the keys that activate the menu once the menu bar is activated.

I completely misunderstood, this is not what I thought at all.

What platform/version/xserver are you using?
