This is another patch for the built-in macros, which puts some salt and pepper on the Preview Tool Window.
It gives one button which can freeze the content of the Preview, so that it can be used for visual comparison. It also allows to select and copy text from Preview, or to bookmark, search or copy word from cursor. The file caption from Preview is a text box, not a label, so its content can be selected and copied too.
How is built:
- tagwin_form.e is a new file where I copied the _form _tbtagwin_form from the built-in macro file sysobj.e, and to which is added the new freeze ctl_freeze_preview button. Also the previous ctlbufname label was replaced with ctlbufnametext text box.
- tagwin.e is a full copy of the original built-in macro file with the same name (macros\ tagwin.e) to which I added some code. I tried to surround it with _MY_PATCH_ define, for easier maintenance.
To load the macro, copy the two files in your SlickEdit config folder (or a subfolder of it) and load the tagwin.e (this will automatically load the tagwin_form.e) from menu Macro -> Load Module…
A restart will be required. Ensure first you backup your config folder.
Also consider that if any new hotfix will have a new revision for “tagwin.e†or “_form _tbtagwin_form†then you’ll have to merge the fixes into this patch.
