CRLF gets added when I perform a paste of a copied word
« on: April 24, 2012, 11:14:00 AM »
I'm using Visual SlickEdit Version 8.0 and it has always been pretty stable. Recently, I have a problem when I copy some text. The paste operation adds a CRLF to the word that I want to paste. I am using Brief emulation. For example:
It's raining cats and today, If I paste in the word dog. I should get:
It's raining cats and dogs today.

But instead I get:
It's raining cats and dogs
CRLF today.

I compared all configuration settings with another computer that works OK and all the settings are the same. I really need to prevent the CRLF from getting pasted.

Thanks,
Jack

Additional info: When I checked the Clipboard, the CRLF was present after the copied word.

If the CR/LF is present in the Clipboard, it should get pasted.  Ensure your selection doesn't include the EOL, and you should be fine.

Hi Phil,

I did not copy the EOL. For example, if I type out:
123
and then hightlight the 2 and do a copy and paste, I get:
12
23

On my other machine, which works correctly, the result is:
1223. So for some reason a CRLF is getting added to the copy buffer when
the text is copied.

Ouch.
Does it do the same thing if you run it with a clean config?
Does copy/paste in Notepad suffer the same thing?
Sorry, I don't have any other suggestions of the top of my head.
