segfault while debugging with GDB
« on: September 18, 2012, 04:22:48 pm »
I recently upgraced to v17.0.2.0 from V12.

While using the Linux 32bit version to debug an application running on a remote target I got:
/opt/slickedit/bin/vs: line 38:  4756 Segmentation fault      "$VS_LAUNCH_BIN_PATH/$VS_LAUNCH_BIN_NAME"_exe $@

It has only done it once so far.

We have seen this before.  The problem is due to an incompatibility between libstdc++.so.6 and the libgcc_s.so.1 that is on your machine.

Contact SlickEdit support and they can provide you with a copy of libgcc_s.so.1 for 32-bit linux (built for GCC 4.6.2).  Place that in your slickedit/bin directory and the problem will be solved.
