Which language mode am I in?
« on: April 05, 2013, 04:41:03 PM »
I'm working on adding support for some languages to SlickEdit 2012 (v17). One thing which bugs me is that when I'm testing, I can't tell which language SE thinks I am editing in. Is it reported anywhere in the GUI? Thanks in advance,  Ian.

On the "Document" menu is a command "Select Mode", and it lists the current mode in parentheses e.g. "Select Mode (C/C++)".

Just curious... What languages are you adding?

My main focus is on R which is a script language for statistics:

A long time ago I made an R mode with all the keywords/punctuation and syntax colouring and so on, but it doesn't identify functions so my larger programs are hard to navigate. Now I'm revisiting the project and will release it as a hotfix if I'm ever satisfied with it.

There are some great editors for R out there but I prefer SlickEdit.
