Hi All,
Was wondering if others had seen this and if there was a fix for it. I've been running slicked under linux for a while now and have not had this problem. I recently installed both Fedora 18 and Slickedit 17 so I'm not sure when this problem started. When I try to bring up slicked as a normal user I get this message:
D-Bus library appears to be incorrectly set up; failed to read machine uuid: Failed to open "/var/lib/dbus/machine-id": No such file or directory
See the manual page for dbus-uuidgen to correct this issue.
Checking the man page does not solve the problem but using "sudo vs" does. Since editing under root privileges is probably not a good thing, is there another way to solve the problem?
Edit: I decided to install slickedit 16 just to see what happens, and it seems to work just fine. The problem appears to be in slickedit 17 only.
Regards,
Dave
