Cannot enter {,},[, ] and ı on Mac

I have just moved from Windows to Mac and I'm running SlickEdit 17.0.3 on a Mac, OS X 10.8.3 and using a danish keyboard.
But I cannot enter curly braces, brackets and vertical bar which is extremely annoying  . The normal Mac keysequences are Option+8 for [, Option+9 for ], Option+Shift+8 for {, Option+Shift+9 for } and Option+Shift+i for ı.

When pressing e.g. Option+Shift+8 under keybindings it shows Option+Shift+{.

I see the same thing you do as far as seeing Option+Shift+{ when using the "Search by key sequence" in the Options dialog. However, I am still able to type the {}\ characters. What keyboard emulation are you using? When you type that sequence in the "Search by key sequence" field, are any commands listed in the search results? If so, you will need to unbind those key sequences so the characters come through.

I'm using Brief emulation, and there are no commands bound to Option-Shift -{ and }. Option-8 and Option-9 are bound to alt-bookmark and Option-I is bound to insert toggle. But even if I remove those bindings it still doesn't work.

I just saw the support case you submitted, so Mike is going to send you a response via that channel. But I'll repeat it here.
- Remove all of the "alt-bookmark" command bindings for Option+8, Option+9, and Option+7 (if any)
- Remove the "insert-toggle" bindings that show up for Option+I

What is your options setting for "Mac Option/Alt key behavior", under Keyboard and Mouse -> Advanced. It should be set to "Default Mac IME (extended ascii entry)". I think setting Brief as your emulation may have auto-switched that setting behind your back to the Windows-style alt key setting.
