Is SlickEdit 2011 (v16.0.3.0 32-bit) broken?

This is a link to the screen I get when it fails:

Hello,

I am currently using version: SlickEdit 2011 (v16.0.3.0 32-bit)
I see that there are new versions available now.

The problem that has been occuring on three different computers so far over and over.. Is that I get a tiny message in the bottom of the window saying: "Tagging (1234 remaining): <path to file>" where "1234" can be any number and <path to file> is a path to some file in our project.
It keeps going like this and then stops responding completely if I click on it.
Is the new version any better in that regards? I just can't work with the default settings. I have to disable tagging. This is not the way SlickEdit was intended to be used. Is there any way I could try the latest version? I am using the current version and work and could ask for an upgrade. I am just not sure that the latest version is more stabe and do not know what is the most current stable version.

Thanks

Also, is there any way to make the tagging threads running in the background move to the foreground? ie have them running in the front, I remember having that feature.

Do you have the latest hotfixes installed for v16.0.3?  If not you should definitely install those and see if it alleviates some or all of your issues: https://customer.slickedit.com/support/product-updates/hotfixes .

Also, you should be able to trial the current release of v17.0.3 at http://www.slickedit.com/trial/slickedit , if you want.  I'd also recommend getting the latest hotfix for v17.0.3 while you are trying out that version.

The option you asked about does exist, it is at Tools > Options > Editing > Context Tagging®.  Set Number of tagging threads to start to 0.  You will be prompted to restart SlickEdit, and when you do all tagging will be done in the foreground.

Hope this helps,

Ryan
