Slick edit for Linux very bad autocomplete
« on: April 27, 2013, 07:24:26 pm »
Hello there,
I have this problem with autocomplete, I mean i would rly love to belive that its just me...

I would rly aprichiate any help on this, this is an example code:

Code: [Select]
  server.sin_addr.s_addr = inet_addr("74.125.235.20");
  server.sin_family = AF_INET;
  server.sin_port = htons(80);

So first of all ctrl+space doesnt work at all. Now lets say im typing server. then i get the autocomplete options, but ONLY WORDS that i have already typed uppon, which would be sin_addr, sin_family, sin_port. But that is not the full structure. It is defined in <sys/socket.h>

Eclipse really does all that i can see the full structure, no matter what members i alreaddy typed into the code.
Is there a way to make this autocomplete better? So it would work more like eclipse or visual studio?

I would rly aprichiate any help.

It works for me. I'd guess it's missing from your compiler tag file. Check "tools -> tag files..." and that the "C Compiler Configuration Tag files" includes the sys/socket.h header file.

Do you mind telling me what the patch is? I added /usr/include/giomm-2.4/giomm/socket.h and after that all /usr/include/giomm-2.4/ directory and neither worked for me.
Your coloring is different than mine too. I would say its more of it that different, did u modify anything? For me it seems that it doesnt see the socket.h structures at all.

Edit: found the file, thanks it works now. Althrough, could you tell me how did you improve the coloring?
