Bug: B4: Focus issues with split panes.
« on: May 21, 2013, 06:21:27 am »
Hi,

Do this with brief emulation, one file per buffer:

  • Open a number of files.
  • In file "a" spilt the window to create a vertical split. File "a" will be in both panes and the cursor focus will be in the RHS pane.
  • Navigate back to the LHS pane.
  • Select a different file in this pane without using the file tab at the top of the MDI. For example using "list-buffers"
  • Now use "list-buffers" to select file "a" again.
  • The cursor will focus to file "a" in the RHS pane. It is not possible to get the focus back to file "a" in the LHS pane without using the mouse.

I think there is a different similar issue here also.

If the cursor focus is in the RHS pane I can open a new file and it appears in that pane.

However if I open an existing file the cursor is shifted to that file in the LHS pane. I would expect that the file be opened in the RHS pane and the cursor focus be there.

Hmm...I tried this in Brief emulation (what I think you're using) and could not reproduce the problem. Actually this problem should have occurred with my emulation and if it did it would have drove me so crazy I would have fixed it ASAP!
