Is there an option to change the color of the file tab?

I'm having the same problem in Ubuntu 10.04 LTS.

I'm having the same problem on Win7/64.   FYI, I have the gamma set at between .55 and .60 to increased text readability.   This may be part of the issue.

I suggest four changes:

1. Remove the color gradient from all tabs.

2. Set the inactive tabs to a mid-level color.  Maybe luminosity of 190 on the HSL scale.

3. Set the active tab to be lighter (not darker) than the inactive tabs - Luminosity on the HSL scale to > 230.

4.  Allow users to change the tab colors - both active and inactive.

Regards,

Dan.

p.s.  I like most of the changes and look forward to floating windows.
