Beta 6: SE maximizes after changing workspaces
« on: May 31, 2013, 11:28:34 PM »
If I make the SE window smaller than maximum size (by clicking on the Maximize/Restore Down button)  and then switch to a different project, the window automatically maximizes.

Note: I checked v17 and it exhibits the same behavior, so this is not new.

Windows 7, 32-bit

This could be the window manager. Some Linux window managers will maximize a window if it is close to being maximized. I've had this happen on Ubuntu. My Ubuntu machine has a small monitor. Try making the window much smaller than maximized and see if there is a difference.

I tried making the window really small, and it still maximized when I switched projects. This was on Win 7 32-bit.

I can't repro on SE 17.0.2 on Win8 x64.

What happens if you try with a fresh config?
E.g. "vs.exe -sc c:\temp\FreshConfig"

So far, I can't reproduce this. Try renaming your <workspace>.vpwhist file before opening it. It has the auto-restore information in it for the workspace.

I was able to reproduce this one.  I'll see if I can figure out what's going on.

This bug has gray hair and can be reproduced in v16 and before. Here's how you reproduce it:

* Exit SlickEdit when it is maximized (this is key)
* Now every workspace you open will be restored with the main MDI window maximized.
