This isn't a SE18 issue specifically (though I think it is worse in SE18 than SE17) but seeing as I've just noticed it I'll raise it here. If I have a largish (30,000 files) project selected, particularly one with wildcarded trees that are located on the network when I start SE then I can work on my existing buffers immediately, but if I try and shut down SE or switch to another project within the first ~30secs then SE will stall until that period has expired. I'm guessing that it won't exit until it has found all the files in the project that it is about to abandon. This behaviour is not dependant on the number of buffers I have open.
