"Save changes to?" dialog placement
« on: June 13, 2013, 08:23:30 PM »
I've got two monitors.
Slick is on the primary monitor (usually anyways) and I don't have any slick windows open on the 2nd.
This dialog was showing up on the 2nd.
I moved it to the 1st, and hit cancel.
I tried to close the buffer again, and again it showed on the 2nd monitor :-(
I left it on the 2nd and hit "no".
I reopened the file, tweaked it a closed it.
Now "Save Changes To" showed on the 1st monitor.
Wierd.
How does it decide where it will next be displayed?

I'd suggest that this dialog, and probably all modal dialogs, be forced to show up on the same monitor as the Slickedit main application or the buffer to which they apply to.

I use VNC to connect to a Linux box running VS in what is essentially on really wide single monitor (even though it is spread across multiple monitors).  My problem is not which monitor the dialog shows up on, but that most dialogs show up in the middle of the screen, which for me is half on one monitor, and half on another.

I had reported this and requested that dialogs always show up in the center of the VS window.  That would take care of your request and mine.  Of course, if VS was already spanning multiple monitors, the dialog may also split monitors, but I can live with it in those cases.
