Saving pushed bookmarks with a workspace
« on: December 10, 2013, 11:15:34 pm »
I prefer to save my bookmarks with my workspace. I have "Editing->Bookmarks->Use workspace bookmarks" enabled. My regular bookmarks save and load with the workspace as expected, however my pushed bookmarks do not. I am using VS 2011. Do more recent versions of VS save pushed bookmarks?

Only named bookmarks are saved/restored. For me this is what I expect. Unnamed resp. pushed bookmarks are rather temporary and I wouldn't remember anyway

For me, saving the pushed bookmarks would be extremely useful. I use the pushed bookmarks as breadcrumbs in code exploration, and saving my exploration path across sessions would be desirable. Perhaps including the pushed bookmarks is a workspace could be an option, disabled by default for those that treat them more temporary. Also, I wonder if a Slick-C script could be written to save them.

Code Annotations would be more comfortable (dedicated tool window, etc.) and are persistent. Did you try this feature already ?
