Auto Restore File Type in File Browser
« on: March 04, 2014, 07:31:29 pm »
Is it possible already to have SlickEdit auto restore the "Files of Type" combo box selection when the application starts?  I typically edit C++ files most of the time, so I would prefer to just keep that setting instead of having to select C++ files every time I start SlickEdit.

Use Macro>Set Macro Variable... and change the value of def_file_types so that "C Files" is at the beginning of the string.

That doesn't quite work because when SlickEdit starts that combo box has no selection (i.e. it doesn't auto select the first item in the list).

This was a bug that has now been fixed for v19.  If you like, I can include the fix in the next v18 hotfix.

Yes, please.  Do you know when the next v18 hotfix is scheduled to be released?

It will be officially released next week.  For now, you can access it here for Mac OSX and here for everything else.

Let me know if this helps your problem!
