Title: using 2 screens in linux
Post by: KeithRoss on October 12, 2015, 09:51:07 PM
Most dialog boxes open at "center of screen". For me it means the center of the two screens; half on each screen. I have the windows (slick edit via X server) task bar running vertically on this center line. The result is that the dialog buttons end up hidden. I suggest these dialogs should be center window rather than center screen.

This sounds to me like your X Server is reporting your two monitors as a single display (reporting resolution something like 3840x1080).  It would help to know more details about your setup, for example, are you on Windows 8.1 using Cygwin X-server or are you using X directly on your Linux box (and what version of Linux).

I 2nd this request.  I asked for this years ago, but it never happened.  I use VNC @ 3840x1200 so this annoyance happens to me frequently throughout the day.

This may be dependent on your VNC software.  Some have settings for managing or emulating multiple monitors, some don't.
