Title: toolbar layout stuff
Post by: Graeme on August 30, 2014, 03:45:03 AM
In floating window, right click on document tab, select "list open files", the files tool window gets opened in the main editor window, not the floating window.

In the "save layout as" dialog, the help button and F1 don't work.  Click cancel or press escape it tells me "layout2" already exists, do you want to overwrite.  Only way out is to agree!

If I close the document tab and there's no edit window open in the floating group, there seems no (obvious) way to open a new doc tab/ buffer in the floating window unless I have a toolwindow visible that allows opening a file.  Ctrl O open file opens in main window.

Drag the files tool window from the main window to the floating window and the "hide/unpin" button at the top of the toolwindow disappears.  Right click->hide and the files tool window closes.  Go back to main window and view -> toolwin -> files and it opens in the floating window now with the pin/unpin button.

It would be useful if a floating window had an option for view -> toolwindows, that allowed a toolwindow to be opened in that floating window, instead of having to go to the main window, open the toolwindow, then drag it or something.

I have dual monitors.  I have the edit window open on left hand monitor and most toolwindows floating on the right hand monitor.  I would like to be able to use the new floating tool window thing to let me have all my floating tool windows docked in a floating window (yep) on the right hand monitor  - but acting for the main edit window and with no doc tab/ open buffer.

I have a floating window with a bunch of docked toolwindows, I do save layout (say "layout2".  Main window has my own custom docked tool window open but for some reason it's disappeared off the list of toolwindows when I do view -> toolwindows.  I actually have 3 of my own toolwindows and two of them are still in the list.  Close slick (elect to save config), open slick again.  Now my floating window has no toolwindows open an done buffer open with no visible doc tab.  The main window has slick's default toolwindow layout back and my own toolwindow gone.  View -> toolwindows shows none of my own custom toolwindows in the list.  Drag a doc tab from the main window to the floating window, now I have two edit windows in the floating window but still no doc tab on the first one.  Press Ctrl F4 to try to close the buffer with no doc tab and it closes the buffer but not the edit window which now duplicates the buffer open in the other edit window.  Right click on doc tab and it thinks I have "layout2" active.  Switch to standard layout then back to layout2 and the correct docked toolwindows turn up.  Yay.  But I still have two edit windows, one of which I don't want, how to get rid of, I don't know...

Continuing as above.
Close slick (save config).  Restart slick.  This time my floating window has all the correct docked toolwindows.  Close slick (save config).  Restart slick... slick crashes "slickedit has stopped working".  Did procdump vs.exe.  38MB dump file.  Let me know if you want it and the config folder.

Just found my custom toolwindow still had p_eventtab2 set to _toolbar_etab2 instead of _toolwindow_etab2.  I guess that could upset the toolwindow list, maybe even crash slick.

oops, forget that, I mis-spoke. It was set to _toolwindow_etab2.
