You'll have to email support your attachment. Probably no point in posting. I took a quick look and I don't know why some people can't upload attachments.

SlickEdit® / Can't make attachments to forum

I wrote up a post but cannot make attachments so I abandoned it.

When I select "Attachments and other options", all I see are 3 checkboxes:
   *  "Notify me of replies"
   *  "Don't use smileys"
   *  "Return to this topic"

I restarted SE and it looks like it now has quietened down (1%).

Thanks.

Try to rebuild your workspace tag file like this:

* Project>Retag Workspace...
* Uncheck Retag files in background when possible

If this never finishes, that means that the parser is hanging trying to parse a file. This would cause processing to go to the moon.
Clark, Thanks.

Retagging said: "74 files could not be found" (I had recently switched to a different branch in the git tree)...

so, I removed all files from workspace and re-added the ones that do exist, and retagged (in foreground).

CPU is still at 20%.

SlickEdit® / SE cpu usage high

SE 29.01 hotfix 5

I noticed my laptop's fan running at full speed for an extended time.

I looked at Windows Task Manager, I saw SE using about 20% cpu.
Only one instance of SE was open, just sitting, not editing (not even in focus);
SE process indicator said (when I right-clicked on it): "There are no active background processes".

I disabled background tagging and immediately cpu usage went down to 1%.

This is new behaviour, previously unseen.

Export your settings, exit slickedit, delete the configuration directory, start slickedit, and import your settings. Hopefully, that will fix things. If things are working, then install hot fix 5.
