Title: Delete key stopped deleting EOLs
Post by: Margaret on April 26, 2012, 02:21:33 pm
My delete key stopped deleting.  Being busy, I didn't really think about it much, just presumed I'd need a new keyboard and worked around it.  But later I discovered that, no, it was a Slickedit (v9, XPProSP3) problem:  the binding on the delete key had gone away.  So I rebound it to delchar.  Which works fine, except that it seems I can no longer join two lines by deleting the first line's eol byte.

Any ideas about what might be going on?  Is there some other switch I also need to restore?

I'm hoping that I'm not going to have to reinstall, because it's such a pain in the bum to re-initialise all the flavorings.

Bind it to grep-delete in Grep mode and linewrap-delete-char in default mode.

aaAAaa thank you - the linewrap one does the job.

How do I go about doing grep-mode bindings?  There's a checkbox saying 'affects all modes' but when I deselect it and bind a keypress, it doesn't ask me what mode I want to bind it in.
