Title: Cancelling a long search
Post by: sgartner on July 09, 2010, 07:50:59 pm
How can I cancel a long "Find in Files" search?  In CodeWright I would just hit Ctrl-Break, but I have yet to find a way to cancel the search in SE.

Thanks,

If you open the Find dialog again, there is a "Stop" button which you can use to cancel the long search. Alternatively, you can bind a key to "stop-search" or type in "stop-search" on the SlickEdit command line.

Hope this helps,
Marty

Wow, totally missed that "stop" button, and ctrl-alt-shift-f2 is good to know as well.  Thanks!

I've noticed that the stop button is often grayed out even when the search is running.
