Title: SlickEdit Core v3.6.1 for Eclipse - Hotfixes
Post by: Ryan on December 08, 2010, 04:51:32 PM
This thread contains hotfixes for SlickEdit Core v3.6.1.  To apply these fixes, save the Slick-C files locally, and within Eclipse select Macro > Load Module, and then browse to the downloaded file.

Fix for possible hang on save when using the "Strip trailing spaces" save option in a file using line truncation, which has data after the truncation column.

Fix for SlickC crash in DateTime.e.  In order to apply this fix you will have to set the date on your machine ahead 1 day, then start Eclipse, and then apply the fix.  Then you can set the date on your machine back to normal.

As an alternative to changing the date on your machine in order to apply this fix, you can delete the file My SlickEdit Core Config\3.6.1\vrestore.slk, and then apply the fix.  This will also work.

For anyone who has not already fixed the problem using the methods described, the procedure to fix this issue is posted in http://community.slickedit.com/index.php?topic=6752.0 for complete details.

Again, you have our most sincere apologies for this problem. We are making every effort to make sure something like this does not occur again.

On Windows XP it should be under "My Documents\My SlickEdit Core Config\3.6.1\vrestore.slk".  Let me know if you have any more trouble with this.

Is the alternative method of setting your clock forward to tomorrow so that you can apply the hotfix not an option for you?  You just close Eclipse, set your clock forward to tomorrow, start Eclipse, load the new DateTime.e via Macro > Load Module, then close Eclipse and return your clock to the appropriate date.

Yes setting the clock ahead worked on my XP machine. Luckily I have admin rights to this machine
