I installed SlickEdit on my Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, and I wanna make a simple Android app. But SlickEdit always report error messages while the New Android Project dialog being finished. Anybody knows why? Thanks!

At the moment, the Android Project support won't be useful for you because it only supports an out dated tool chain. The plan is to update it for v23 but until its done, we can't know for sure whether v23 will support the new android project tool chain.
For now, the fix would be for the android project item to be removed so you can't create one (i.e don't use it for now).
Sorry the new Android project tool chain isn't support yet.

OK. Thank you for your quick reply.

I'd suggest to use the free Android Studio for your app development. It's editing features are not as nice and flexible as SE's, but it has literally everything else you may need, ADK management support, 3rd-party platform SDK support, version control, debugging, emulators, ADB, gradle and maven plugins, package signing, etc.

Thank you. I had installed Android Studio before. But there is a big problem, Android Studio consumes memory too heavy. My MacBook Air has 8GB on-board memory only, if I open Chrome or Firefox concurrently, Android Studio will report OOM error.

Hey Clark, What is the status on the Android Project support?
I checked the v23 release notes but I did not see any mention of it. I am looking forward to android support.

We are working hard on it. Java debugging is working. Working on NDK debugging. There seems to be two ndk debugging methods and we would like to support both. No dates yet but things are looking promising. At this point, I think I can say that there will definitely be android support for v24 beta. There's even a possibility we will put something out before then (v23 point release) but it's too early to tell.
When we have something, I'll post here.
