Title: Slick edit for Linux hangs during building tags
Post by: selvanss on July 13, 2006, 01:03:26 PM
We are working in a very big project which has got almost 5000 c++, header files. Our source code is in a clearcase server.
We have two type of work station in a network for our development environment. One with NIS (Network Information System )and other without NIS
We are able to Add Tree successfully in a non NIS workstation where as slick edit hangs in NIS workstation.

Can anyone give a solution to this issue?

I know you mentioned NIS, but...

Do those workstations using NIS for authentication happen to access source files via NFS mounted partition(s)?  I ask this because sometimes NIS and NFS are used together, and we have had some reported issues with files on NFS mounted volume which we are still investigating.
