SlickEdit® / Re: The project configuration drop down menu is too small.

It is kind of small.  I can make it bigger for the next release (or at least a hotfix thereafter).  Would doubling the width do the trick for you?

Yes, that would help. Allowing people to size it would be the most helpful, I think, or auto-sizing it based on the length of menu items. I can understand people who's configurations are "release" and "debug" not wanting to pay the screen real estate for my configurations like "wddm2mob_amd64_release_cfg." Ours are so long because they are really four different configurations concatenated into one - "OS" + "CPU" + "build type" + "special thing for Win 10 (control flow gate)"

The full name does appear when you hover over a menu item, but it's really hard to always reliably know that you've selected that - as I have many, many entries per project.

Thanks for looking at this!

+1 for jimlangrunner's idea!

OK - that must be the reason, as I create most of my scripts in SE.

How about creating a command to re-determine the type from the hashbang so that I don't have to go through all the clicks to re-classify the file? I can just run this new command instead (and bind it to a key).

Just my $0.02.  Why not leave the width of the box as is, with a hover/tooltip showing the full selection?  Make the dropdown list the width of the widest entry.

SlickEdit supports recognizing all of the examples you gave.

What I did noticed is that if you create the file in SlickEdit, save it, close it, and the reopen the file. You get plain text mode because SlickEdit save/restores (perfile.xml and vrestore.slk) the mode it was the last time you edited it. Just select the mode, if you create the file in SlickEdit.

I happen to like the size that it is, so that I can fit some more icons on my toolbar.

Any way to make the size of it configurable to handle some users that like its current size and other users that want it bigger?

Thanks for finding the issue with sorting, Lee.

That changed the system to a dark setting. I was not understanding the difference between theme and color. I would also expect all windows to match "color" as opposed to "Theme" that would affect the change on the system colors.

I think it's a little clunky.

Thank you for helping me resolve the issue.

Re: Project Sorting:  Thanks for the extra details, that was key to reproducing the issue.  It's not a new bug with this version, but I'll file a defect and try to get it sorting correctly.

Re: Color
When you change to the Dark theme (via Tools>Options>Appearance>General>Application theme), and hit OK (or Apply) the background/foreground colors will change for everything (toolbars, menus, tool windows, etc.) EXCEPT the editor window(s) (where you edit your source code). The change will be very obvious.

It sounds like you are saying that, after selecting "Dark" for the Application theme, hitting OK/Apply does nothing. I wonder if the option is somehow not "sticking". After you select "Dark" and hit OK, bring up the Options windows again. Does the Application theme still say "Dark" or has it reverted to "System"?
