From my work PC the forum web pages take a very long time to load (literally minutes).
Does anyone else experience this?
I'm behind company firewalls and website filtering/blocking etc.
I use IE6 and have "active X control execution" set to prompt me and usually I select no to this.
Any ideas why it's so slow?
Our internet connection is "some kind of broadband" - don't know the exact speed, so I don't think that's the cause.

Same for me (even w/ the normal Slick-website).
I afraid it's a server-side problem :(
Quite annoying ...

Here is what I believe is happening. Can someone confirm?
First page slow, every page after that at a normal speed.
No, not for me. At home (not far from work) I don't have a problem. At work, all pages take 2 minutes or more to load - they do eventually load if I wait long enough. I guess it's something to do with our setup at work. Mostly I read the forum from home anyway.

For some reason I can now read the SE forums from my work PC because the page loading speed problem has gone. My PC has just returned after getting a new motherboard, but I haven't changed any internet settings on it, so I'm wondering why it's ok now. Could be my company's firewall mechanisms I guess.

Just to chime in, I noticed exactly the same increase in speed from my work PC that you did, Graeme.
