SlickEdit® / Re: Issues in build window after manually sshing to build machine there
« Last post by rowbearto on December 07, 2021, 06:28:25 pm »
Are your fixes in 26.0.1 on top of what you provided in the special installer (post in this thread dated Nov 17)? There are more fixes besides that special installer?

If not then I'm also running with your same fixes yet the problem reproed.

SlickEdit® / Re: Escape Special Characters for regex in Find dialog not working?
« Last post by rowbearto on December 07, 2021, 06:27:06 pm »
Ah yes you are right, / doesn't need to be escaped. I was trying to use it for escaping something to go into a sed command line, but that isn't appropriate here.

I tried + and . and SE does indeed escape those.

This performance problem has been fixed for 26.0.1 (joe porrka found this first). This issue has to do with exclude processing being too slow. If you remove the excludes, you won't see this performance problem.

Forward slash doesn't need to be escaped. Are there some other regex special characters there?

These problems are due to long lines messing up scrolling. I've fixed this for v26.0.1. Hard to say if there are any other problems going on but I can't reproduce any more problems with my fix.

SlickEdit® / Escape Special Characters for regex in Find dialog not working?
« Last post by rowbearto on December 07, 2021, 05:27:07 pm »
In the BigFind dialog, if I check the box to use Perl regular expressions and I put an entry into the "Search for" that has special characters for a regex (such as /), then when I do "Escape Special Characters" they are not getting escaped.

I'm using 26.0.0.6 linux 64, using Clark's build from here: https://community.slickedit.com/index.php/topic,18611.msg73734.html#msg73734

SlickEdit® / Context dropdown is not working for a couple users.
« Last post by TKasparek on December 07, 2021, 05:13:43 pm »
We have a couple of users that have an issue where the context dropdown does not work (where it shows your current scope.) We have not been able to identify what specifically it is that causes it but a full reinstall and default of the configuration do not seem to fix it. Has anyone seen this before or have an idea of what it would be that would be causing it? I've confirmed the project is setup correctly to the extent of doing a full install and project setup side by side with two computers and having one work and the other not. This has been found for several generations but until today has only been a single user. Users were on Windows.

SlickEdit® / Re: Ubuntu native GDB has terminated prematurely
« Last post by Dennis on December 07, 2021, 02:28:59 pm »
Instead of "Debug > Start" with your project, try "Debug > Attach Debugger > Debug Executable... (gdb)"  This will factor out the project build entirely.

Depending on the nature of the target you are debugging, you could also start the application outside of the editor and do a "Debug > Attach Debugger > Attach to Running Process... (gdb)"  This would factor out any shared library path issues.

On support look for find_dialog_doesnt_disappear.tar.xz

Find in Files doesn't disappear in large project blocking after search is triggered. As a result I can't use SlickEdit while a search is ongoing.

See the README files and the video recordings in the package.

SlickEdit® / Re: Smart open slow and blocking when workspace has huge number of files

The problem here is that all cases were too slow. Even simpler test cases like test.cpp. Solution needs to be to make it faster. To handle a project with >=300,000 files, would probably require threading some of this code.
