As this was going on, did you have any trouble with files from any other applications?  I'm not sure how this could happen to only us.


To be honest, I don't have too many other applications open, but, of the ones that were ope,n I didn't notice any issues.  Notably explorer was working OK and confirmed that the files were still there.

If you go to Tools>Options, under File Options>Load, is Load entire file on?
Yes, the load entire file is on

Not sure what's going on. Try manually installing a license file in your slickedit/bin installation directory so the license manager does not need to be displayed.

Sorry for the late reply. It takes a while for it to do this and it just happened.
My tag files are all local, just the edited files are remote, except for today because I
am at work and not on a VPN and it did it again.
I attached the screen shot. I can't x out or close this window until it is done.

Hi,

I am bringing up a new development workstation running Fedora 38 with Gnome 44. It uses an AMD7950X with 128GB RAM.

vsinst hung when it would normally pop up a licence dialog. Trying to start Slickedit using  /opt/slickedit-pro2022/bin/vs_exe +new -mdihide -p lmw
hangs polling for something on file descriptor 3:
poll([{fd=3, events=POLLIN}, {fd=6, events=POLLIN}, {fd=7, events=POLLIN}], 3, 0) = 0 (Timeout)
recvmsg(6, {msg_namelen=0}, 0)          = -1 EAGAIN (Resource temporarily unavailable)
recvmsg(6, {msg_namelen=0}, 0)          = -1 EAGAIN (Resource temporarily unavailable)
recvmsg(6, {msg_namelen=0}, 0)          = -1 EAGAIN (Resource temporarily unavailable)

Any ideas what might be going wrong?

I understand about getting the data back first.

It appears that for for just a second, SlickEdit thought the files were not there.  You weren't able to safe your configuration either.  We haven't seen anything else like this.

As this was going on, did you have any trouble with files from any other applications?  I'm not sure how this could happen to only us.

Were the files on the same logical drive as your configuration?
Yes, the files were on the same drive as the configuration, this laptop only has a single SSD.

Were the files on a removable drive, or accessed through a (windows) symbolic link?
No, everything was on the local SSD and no symbolic links were present.

When this happened, I was more focused on getting my files back than gathering any diagnostic information.  If it happens again, I'll take a bit more time to see what, if anything, happened to cause it.

When I have a pending line mark (maybe other selections too) and open a new file via a File Manager list, the selection is lost. Is there a way to avoid this? My old VS 18 did not do this.
