With a black background (color scheme) the active tab is not highlighted in a way to discern the active tab.
See attached image.
[EDIT] Add SE version info:
SlickEdit Pro 2016 (v21.0.0.12 64-bit)
hotfix_se2100_6_cumulative.zip (Revision: 6)

This is easily changeable for you. Tools->Options->Appearance->Colors : Scroll all the way down and you'll find Document Tab - *
Maybe your point was that it is indiscernible as it is defaulted from SE?

I did not know about the document tab setting; probably should have looked, SE is pretty configurable. But, the tabs were always a different color than the background, gray I think (not at an SE computer right now).
I installed 2016 & the hot fix and the tabs matched the background. I figured that was a new implementation. I have 2016 on another PC without the hot fix and it still has gray tabs.
I'll check out the configuration tomorrow.

TK, I changed the active tab color as you suggested. Problem solved; thanks.
I do like the monochromatic of the tab matching the black background. I never considered that it was configurable in the past. Now, I just made the active tab a dark gray so it is black-friendly.
