Features and/or Improvements / Search mini gui to filter on file/directory
« Last post by joecar on January 14, 2025, 05:55:08 PM »Is it possible for the Search mini gui to include a way of specifying which files or dirs to look in (i.e. similar to Find In Files)?
For example, I want to regex search in *.py files only, or in *.c and not *.h files.
Or in directory tree xyz only rather than the whole project.
( is it similar to Color filtering...? )

Features and/or Improvements / Project Add Tree excluding symlinks

Project -> Project Properties -> Files -> Add Tree
it would be nice if there was a check box to exclude following file symlinks (i.e. thereby excluding adding otherwise duplicate files).
This would then mean that each tagged symbol would show up only once instead of N+1 times (once for actual file, and once for each of N symlinks). This would mean that tagging would be much faster.

Probably backup history is a good tool to use to check for unintended changes in your code. If you get unexpected "macro recording" messages again you should be able to turn off the recording using a command in the macro menu.

I ended being able to work after giving a kill and reloading slickedit. That is on Arch Linux.
