Title: Perforce: How do you create a shelve?
Post by: jporkkahtc on September 18, 2014, 02:37:24 PM
I see the feature listed, but I don't see how to create a shelve.
Where is it?

Since Perforce itself has a Shelves feature (which stores files on the server), having Slick create .ZIP "Shelves" for perforce will be confusing.

Right click on a modified file in the compare workspace view and you will see "Create Shelf" on the context menu.

This feature works for Perforce, git, Subversion, Mercurial and CVS.  Some of these have their own shelving facility (I'm pretty sure git does too).  But the feature was implemented using our version control framework so it works for all of them.  If you prefer Perforce's facility, that's fine.
