Update on this: I seem to be getting the repeated Error saving... when switching from a workspace that has workspace annotations to a workspace with no annotations.

Hi!

When I view/edit annotation types, I get a series of 'Error saving annotation information to ... Error : Path not found' dialogs for annotation files for projects that have been deleted/do not exist. These file paths also exist drop down to select annotation file in the New annotation dialog.

Is there anyway to clear these old file paths to stop this happening?

Thanks.

Thanks Clark, as always.  This would make the Defs tool much more useful for me.

Maybe you can provide steps from a clean config on how to reproduce this.

vs - sc /tmp/config

I think you can achieve this (or nearly so), by dragging tabs out of the main SE window and then hitting Ctrl-Shift-Z (in CUA mode, at least) to hide the tab.  Repeat for the rest of files you want in 'child' windows and arrange as desired.

Removing the vrestore files (by renaming them) didn't work.

Try exiting SlickEdit and removing vrestore.slk and vrestore.xml. This will reset your tool windows and other auto restore data.

It turns out that the minimap font is already set to a non-default font.  See attached screenshot.

SlickEdit® / Child windows?
« Last post by Zac on May 06, 2024, 01:43:01 AM »
I have a big display, and instead of wasting lots of (otherwise empty) space to have a single file visible at once in a tabbed window, I would like to have separate 'child' windows, each with a single (non-tabbed) file in it, which I can resize and rearrange to be able to look at multiple files (or multiple views in a a file) at the same time.

It used to be this way in older SlickEdit (not the only editor that has forced tabbed editing, to my inconvenience), but can it be done on newer versions?

I didn't see anything 'obvious' yet looking through the settings or searching for it here, but I'll keep looking for now.  If I missed something please point me to it.

Thanks.

Thanks, Clark.

I'll try that on Monday.
