SlickEdit® / Re: Go to definition does not activate target window.
« Last post by rdauben on November 21, 2022, 02:02:34 pm »
So my issue came back.  It seems related to when I opened a 2nd instance of SlickEdit with a different active project.  As I switch back and forth between the 2 instances and navigate to various symbols, occasionally the issue presents itself, but not every time.  I think I've only seen the issue in the 2nd instance, but I can't say that I've never seen it in the 1st instance.  It's really weird.  Usually I can simply exit both instances and re-open and the problem is corrected (for a while).

Maybe this will help give you more ideas to check out.

Thanks.

SlickEdit® / Re: Diff of two buffers, one or both are read only

Please let me know if it happens again. I'll review the code that determines if a file is being diffed to look for "holes".

Source Diff makes the right side read only because it reflows it to match the file on the left.

Thanks - I finally had figured that out.  I've turned that option off.  (as an aside, if I turn Source Diff on from the the "Options..." button in Diffzilla, then click OK on the "re-diff?" dialog, neither of the files gets marked read-only).

If the buffer open?  If so, is the buffer read only to start with?  Sorry, but I have to ask.

No need to be sorry - it's a fair question.  As far as I know, the buffers being diffed were never marked read only to begin with (I just noticed that the changed to read only in the SE editor while the diff is active).  The buffers involved in the diff were always open in SE.

I cannot reproduce the problem where both sides of the diff ended up being read only.  If it happens again I'll ask again - unless I can figure it out on my own.  But as of now you can close/drop this.

Thanks

I am running Ventura on i7 6-core w/32GB RAM, and I never get the + when dragging files to open.
I must drag the file to the SlickEdit icon in the dock to get it to open.

SlickEdit® / 27.0.0.6 on macOS Ventura, unable to dock windows
« Last post by rjpontefract on November 18, 2022, 06:47:46 pm »
Using 27.0.0.6 on macOS Ventura 13.0.1 I am unable to dock windows.  I no longer see the yellow dock location indicators when dragging  either source windows or tool windows.  I can dock tool windows using the dock context menu item but I am not able to move them.

I tried it with a clean configuration and I see the same thing.

Is this an issue with Ventura?

Very strange.  I'm glad you found that, I was stumped, and wondering if I had missed something.

Hey, Patrick.

I've resolved this issue.  I re-ran the installation file with the "Repair" option and it is working correctly now.  Don't know what was corrupted or how it got that way.

Thanks.
