Download speeds look okay on our end.
Is it still slow for you?
Not sure what DNS issues you are referring to.

Things to check:
Are you on a slow VPN connection?

When I reduce it down to a simple test case as I described it doesn't repro.

I had many many files open and it was happening.

I'll try to figure out a way to get it reproduced systematically.
SlickEdit® / Diff of two buffers, one or both are read only
« Last post by mwb1100 on November 18, 2022, 08:29:36 am »
I run a diff on 2 buffers and one or both of the panels in the diff end up read only so I can't move changes across.  This wasn't happening earlier today, and I have no idea why it started.  The "Read only" check box is also greyed out, so I can't change it.

I told it not to use "Source Diff" (a dialog says that source diff will make the right side read-only - I don't understand why that would be, but I told it not to do source diff anyway)

Appreciate any help.

If you have v27, you could try Live Diff. It diffs the buffer as you're editing. It currently only supports git though.

I think I'm missing some information here. From what you've listed I have no idea why DIR2/desiredfile is even being listed. It may be best for you to zip up files for this test case.

I'm not sure what happened here.  I will look into this, I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

So I'm now on SlickEdit 27.0.0 and a few days ago I noticed I had a My SlickEdit Config directory under Documents and didn't remember why and so I just deleted it to clean up a bit.

Well, 27.0.0 still has the same problem that running vsdiff doesn't use my current config. So did this drop through the cracks or is there no way to get it to work without the workarounds?

One odd thing I noticed was that the vsdiff.exe process (this is Windows 10 x64), has the SLICKEDITCONFIG environment variable still set to my default of C:\Users\bej\SlickEdit, but the vs.exe process started from vsdiff has SLICKEDITCONFIG set to C:\Users\BrianJongekryg\Documents\My SlickEdit Config\.
SlickEdit® / Re: How can I delete custom toolbars?

So that doesn't fix it - doesn't appear to do anything.

I started doing this because I was editing a custom toolbar and accidentally deleted some stuff.
I have a *.e with my toolbar form defined.
I finally figured out what was wrong with it and have it working now.

Anyways, after messing around quite a bit while not getting it to work, I've ended up with a bunch of extra forms. None of them show up in the toolbars list though.

Interesting ... on the New Toolbar dialog, click Advanced and enter a formname.
I always assumed that this would create the new form with this name. It actually uses that existing form.

If I do that, then delete the new toolbar, it deletes the form too!
SlickEdit® / Smart open problem in v27.0.0.6 QT4
« Last post by rowbearto on November 17, 2022, 04:07:53 pm »
To reproduce:

Desire to open file DIR2/desiredfile
'desiredfile' should not exist in DIR1
DIR1 is a different directory than DIR2
In Smart Open, change the current directory to DIR1 so all files in DIR1 listed
Now in Smart Open type: DIR2/desiredfile  (but don't change to DIR2)
Double click on desiredfile
Instead of opening DIR2/desiredfile it opens DIR1/desiredfile which doesn't exist so it is an empty file
