Title: search not working
Post by: brian40509 on April 09, 2015, 06:52:35 PM
SlickEdit 2012 (v17.0.3.0 32-bit)
OS:Linux

Find suddenly stops working.  Find dialog set as follows:
Search for: nth_order_spaces
Look in: <Current Buffer>
Search options: Match whole word, List all occurrences, Bookmark all matches
Search Results window: <Auto increment>

Find was working then for some reason it stopped.  HELP!!!

If restarting, rebooting etc didn't help then try this
1. export all your configuration options via tools -> options
2. close slick, backup your configuration folder
3. delete the vslick.stu file in your configuration folder
4. restart slick
If that doesn't work, try a brand new empty config folder vs.exe +new -sc some-empty-folder, then import your saved configuration options.

FIXED
I had to try a brand new empty config folder vs.exe +new -sc some-empty-folder, then import your saved configuration options to get search working.  But it is working.

Thanks for your help.

I tried that too Brian but it didn't work for me. Is there anything else I could try?

Are you a real person?  If so, what is one hundred minus 23 times two?  (spammers post messages like yours sometimes.)
Try rebooting your PC.  What platform and version of slick are you using?  How do you initiate the search?
Does search work with an empty configuration folder before you import your configuration options?  If so, try selectively importing your config options until you find one that makes it go wrong.
