Verify that the 'gui-find' command is bound to 'ALT-S'. I just GUESS this applies already to V10..
(see 'Tools>Options>Key Bindings' menu .. if available)

Ver10, on windows w/ the BRIEF emulation.
If I enter Alt-S (BRIEF search key), the slickEdit command line opens at the bottom of the window.  The same happens when I press F5 (search).  I use to get the FIND pop-up window.  I can still get the pop-up when I use the menu: Search->Find.
The behavior changed when I did a Ctrl-F (WIN search key) sequence by mistake.  The Ctrl-F and the following keys changed things.  But I don't know what got changed.
How do I get the original behavior back?  (Alt-S = FIND pop-up window)
