RC5 Mac: "vsdiff dir1/ dir2/" always closes
« on: November 11, 2014, 01:54:43 am »
from a terminal, run "vsdiff" to compare two directories of files.
Slick shows a nice tree view.
Double click one of the files to view the side-by-side differences.

No matter how you close the side-by-side diff window, the tree-view window also closes.
This means you only get to see one of the different files, then you have to start over.
:-(

This appears to be a Mac only bug and it's not new. After a little bit of research I'm surprised this doesn't happen on all platforms. I think the tree view needs to be modal so there's a message loop.

This is still a problem in 19.0.1.

I'm sorry, this one sort of fell through the cracks.  The fix is in two macro files.  If you PM me an email address I'll send them to you.

Cool, those updated *.e files make it work now!

RUn vsdiff on two directories with several different files.
Double-click one of the different files to get the diffs.
"Next-diff" until you get the "no more differences, close now?"
Answer NO.
Press ESC.
Both the diff and the multi-diff windows close.
Only the diff window should close.
Until the "no more diffs" dialog, only the diff window does close.

I can't reproduce this one.  Are you clicking Next-Diff with the mouse?  Are you clicking "No" to the "close now?" dialog with the mouse?

Thanks,

Dan
