v20 will support configuring nested comments the way you need. Like Dennis said, it is non standard though.

Dennis, thanks for the suggestion.  I agree your workaround is non-standard, but when I tried it with a "pre" section the "*" did not show up.  Regardless, the desired result is to use a "code" section so Doxygen will color code the source, not satisfy VS.  As you know this means the "/*" will not work in a "code" section.
