Open tool window - keeping the filename field
« on: May 01, 2019, 05:53:12 PM »
In Tools > Options > File Options > Open there is "Clear text box on enter".

#1  If I enter a pattern in FileName to filter down my choices, then open a file, FileName is cleared.
I'd like for it to not get cleared.

Oddly, if I select a file that is already opened, filename does not get cleared.

#2  It might be nice to indicate files that are already open.
The "Files" tool window should also do this on the Project and Workspace tabs

#3  I just realized that I can enter a pattern into "Files of type", but this isn't obvious.
"File Name" is at the top and "Files of type" is at the bottom - making it pretty un-obvious
and very different from other tool windows that have a pattern.

Maybe it would be better if these two controls were next to each other?

#4 When "Open Tool Window orientation" is set to Auto it switches to horizontal mode while the
window is too narrow to actually see the right hand pane.
When switching to horizontal mode Slick should at least ensure that the vertical splitter is visible.
Maybe the vertical splitter position should be what determines when Auto switches
    between the two modes?
